Further Assistance needed for Libyan Rebels

Senator John McCain arrived in Libya on Friday to show support for the rebel forces.  The NATO effort has succeeded in preventing a rebel collapse and bloodbath in Benghazi, but it is clear that we are at a bump in the road.  Experts believe that further support for the Rebels is now necessary to complete our "mission" (whatever the fuck that is) in Libya.

I'm a Marine Corps active duty grunt with a deployment under my belt, I supported going into Afghanistan whole heartedly, and even I was disgusted that we went into Libya.  Why, even in our Nation's worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, can we not stay out of expensive wars with 3rd world dictators?  C'mon America.

  1. I don't know why America decided to send troops when France and NATO were already prepared to handle the ground assault. For a country that is trillions of dollars in debt, you'd think they would want to save a bit of coin.

  2. I agree. Sweden is sending a few fighter jets (note, a few) to help down there. I fail to see why everyone has to go to libya

  3. Hm, I guess the US will be in three wars now if any troops get deployed there. Everyone should just send planes there for assistance, not any ground troops which will cause a war.

  4. I've got to agree with you. The justification that an oppressive dictator must be stopped just doesn't fly or we'd be in dozens of countries doing the same thing.
